EBRD again awarded Raiffeisen Bank Aval for its activity under TFP

The European bank for Reconstruction and Development has yet again recognized Raiffeisen Bank Aval as the Most Active Issuing Bank under the Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP), this time based on results of 2019.  

During the previous year, Raiffeisen Bank Aval issued the biggest number of transactions (counter-guarantees, documentary and stand-by letters of credit) under this program among other issuing banks in Ukraine.

“Servicing the needs of business entities in trade finance is a necessary component of today’s successful business, as trade development and growth have the greatest influence on the economic growth of Ukraine.  Raiffeisen Bank Aval remains the market leader of trade finance in Ukraine, among other things, owing to long-term partnership with EBRD under TFP”, noted Serhiy Kostogryz, Head of Trade Financing and Factoring Department.

Currently, trade finance remains one of the corporate client service priorities in Raiffeisen Bank Aval. The bank’s high results in area are due to a high competence in trade finance, focus on a long-term and mutually beneficial relations with partners, an individual approach to client needs, as well as a peculiar attention to the training of highly qualified specialists certified by the International Trade Chamber and their further professional development.

The Trade Facilitation Program was established in 1999. Currently, over 120 partner banks from 30 countries are part of EBRD investment programs as well as over 800 confirming banks around the world.

Raiffeisen Bank Aval was the first bank in Ukraine and one of the first in the world that joined this program in 2001. Since 2003, the bank has been more than once awarded by EBRD by results of its trade financing activity.
