Raiffeisen Bank Opens New Underground Branches in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia
Raiffeisen Bank has opened new underground branches in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, further expanding its network of secure banking locations designed to operate during air raid alerts.
In Dnipro, the underground service area has been integrated into an existing branch and serves customers whenever an air raid alert is announced in the region. Customers can access banking services through a dedicated entrance leading directly to the underground premises. The new branch in Zaporizhzhia is located entirely underground and will operate as a fully underground branch.
Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia are among the Ukrainian cities most frequently targeted by Russian attacks and experience some of the country's longest air raid alerts. As a result, access to in-person banking services is often disrupted, while communication outages can make digital banking difficult to use. At the same time, local businesses and entrepreneurs continue to operate and require uninterrupted access to financial services.
The underground branch format enables the Bank to provide uninterrupted banking services during wartime. It not only enhances the safety of customers and employees but also contributes to maintaining economic resilience in the regions.

The underground branches offer the same range of services as traditional branches, including account opening, deposits, lending, customer consultations, and cash services.
With the opening of the new locations, Raiffeisen Bank's network of underground branches now includes seven branches. Previously, the Bank opened underground customer service areas in Kharkiv, including a branch located in the metro system, as well as two underground service areas in Sumy and two in Dnipro.
Raiffeisen Bank believes that expanding its network of underground branches helps strengthen economic resilience in frontline regions, maintain customers' confidence, and provide a sense of stability and security while accessing banking services—something that is especially important during wartime.
