Raiffeisen Bank among the largest usiness investors in ukrainian education

Raiffeisen Bank took 8th place in the TOP-51 ranking of the largest business investors in education, according to Delo.ua and the Kyiv School of Economics.

Raiffeisen Bank’s contribution exceeded UAH 83 million, with the bank’s educational philanthropy index reaching 86.75. Overall, during the years of full-scale war, 52 Ukrainian and international companies invested over UAH 4 billion in education.

The research conducted by Delo.ua together with the Kyiv School of Economics showed that the surplus of qualified specialists is now a thing of the past, and the traditional academic system, without support, struggles to keep up with the labor market challenges. That is why education has become not only a state priority but also an area of active engagement by responsible businesses.

Despite the difficult conditions of wartime, Raiffeisen Bank continues to invest in education, youth development, and support for internally displaced persons, veterans, children, and women entrepreneurs. The main directions of the bank’s educational activities include:

1.Safe and Progressive Education

•One of the key areas is helping ensure safe learning conditions for children. The bank allocated UAH 40 million to implement the nationwide program for equipping shelters in educational institutions — "ZAKHYSTOK: Safe Education." This has enabled the creation of over 100 shelters for 37,000 children.

•Under the charity program “Children’s Shelter,” the bank provides grants for education and improving children’s living conditions. Over two years, 63 grant projects worth more than UAH 12 million have been implemented.

•Assistance also includes providing modern equipment — tablets — to children from families of displaced persons, military personnel, and low-income households, in partnership with the charitable foundation “Mriy.”

2.Scholarships and Higher Education Support

•Raiffeisen allocates funds for scholarships at the Kyiv School of Economics — for internally displaced persons, veterans, and children of fallen defenders of Ukraine.

•Additionally, the bank opens opportunities for professional development: in the last two years, 78 students have completed internships at Raiffeisen, some of whom continued their careers with the company.

3.Investments in Entrepreneurial Education

•In partnership with the agroholding “Astarta-Kyiv,” the bank runs the “Brave” program, providing grants to veterans, their family members, and small entrepreneurs to start and grow their own businesses. So far, 217 entrepreneurs have been supported, including 153 veterans. The bank’s total investment amounts to UAH 20 million.

•The bank has also allocated funds to support women’s entrepreneurship through the U&WE Hub program, created specifically to empower Ukrainian women entrepreneurs.

•Special attention is given to supporting youth innovation. In partnership with Chernivtsi National University, the bank helps students implement startup initiatives.

4.Development of Financial Literacy

•Bank employees have conducted over 30 in-person lectures for schoolchildren in various regions of Ukraine. Raiffeisen shares financial knowledge because it believes financial literacy is a crucial component of personal well-being and the economic resilience of society.
