Raiffeisen Bank to test new payment scenarios for AI-powered commerce with Visa

Raiffeisen Bank joined the Visa Agentic Ready programme in October 2026 to prepare for payments initiated by AI agents on behalf of users.
The programme enables issuing banks to test these transactions in a fully functional, controlled environment and assess their readiness for agentic commerce. Visa launched the initiative on 20 May 2026in the CEMEA region, which includes Ukraine. More than 30 partners have already joined.
Agentic commerce will enable AI assistants not only to find products and compare offers, but also to make purchases and initiate payments at a user’s request. These payments must be secure and transparent, with users retaining control over the purchasing process.
Visa Agentic Ready draws on core capabilities of the Visa network, including tokenisation, digital identity, and risk management and control tools. These capabilities are designed to help secure payments while maintaining transaction transparency and user control over purchases.
“We see growing potential in AI-powered assistants to help people make everyday decisions, save time and interact with digital services more naturally,” said Yevhen Vasyltsov, Director of the Acquiring Department atRaiffeisen Bank.
“We are already seeing AI transform the journey from product selection to purchase. The next step is to enable AI assistants to carry out specific actions on a user’s behalf without compromising security or user control. Raiffeisen Bank’s participation in Visa Agentic Ready gives us an opportunity to test how these scenarios will work in practice and prepare together for the next stage of digital commerce,” said OleksandrYablunivskyi, Vice President of Products and Solutions at Visa for Ukraine, Moldova, South-Eastern Europe,Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Visa Agentic Ready builds on Visa Intelligent Commerce, Visa’s portfolio of initiatives and solutions designed to develop and scale trusted AI-powered commerce. Participation in the programme will allow Raiffeisen Bank to assess its readiness for purchasing scenarios in which digital agents perform some of the steps on a user’s behalf.
