Raiffeisen Bank partners with the National Development Institution to give businesses access to new financing programmes

Raiffeisen Bank and the National Development Institution (NDI) signed a partnership agreement on 3November. The agreement will enable the bank to participate in financing programmes offered by international financial institutions and expand the range of support available to Ukrainian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

As a partner, Raiffeisen Bank will be eligible to compete for funding from international institutions. Potential opportunities include programmes run by the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), the NDI4Ukraineinitiative, and financing for projects that help businesses develop their own power generation capacity and become more energy-independent.

Raiffeisen Bank already works with NDI on five government support programmes. Under the AffordableLoans 5–7–9% programme, the bank ranks among the five largest participating banks by loan portfolio size, with a portfolio exceeding UAH 48 billion.

“Our partnership with Raiffeisen Bank gives Ukrainian micro, small and medium-sized businesses greater access to financing for growth and resilience. It covers a range of instruments, from the 5–7–9%programme and guarantee mechanisms to support for manufacturers of dual-use products. We are also developing blended programmes that combine loans, guarantees and grants, including support for women and veteran entrepreneurs. This allows us to tailor financing solutions to the needs of each business,” said Valerii Maiboroda, First Deputy Chair of the Management Board of NDI.

For Raiffeisen Bank, the partnership means broader access to long-term financing, guarantee mechanisms and grant programmes that it can offer its customers. Supporting entrepreneurship is one of the bank's strategic priorities, spanning business financing and educational initiatives for entrepreneurs.

“This is an important step for us, as we remain committed to supporting Ukraine’s economy and our customers. Our partnership with NDI will enable us to participate in a wider range of government and international programmes, secure additional funding, and make use of guarantee and grant instruments. For our customers, this means more opportunities to invest, grow their businesses and strengthen their resilience, even in challenging conditions,” said Natalia Gurina, Chair of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank.
