Raiffeisen Bank, in Collaboration with Visa, Introduces Tap to Pay on iPhone for Customers in Ukraine
Raiffeisen Bank, together with Visa, now offers its Ukrainian customers the ability to accept in-person contactless payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone. This solution works with the RaiPOS app and requires only an iPhone – no extra devices or payment terminals.
With Tap to Pay on iPhone, businesses can seamlessly accept all types of contactless payments – including credit and debit cards from global payment networks, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets – directly on their iPhone, with no additional hardware required. At checkout, customers simply hold their contactless payment method near the merchant’s iPhone, and the transaction is completed securely via NFC technology. The feature also supports PIN entry and accessibility options.
Tap to Pay on iPhone leverages built-in security and privacy features. Card numbers are never stored on Apple servers, ensuring that both merchants and customers maintain full control over their data*.
Getting started is quick and simple: merchants can download the RaiPOS app from the Apple App Store on an iPhone XS or newer running the latest iOS version, and begin accepting contactless payments within minutes.
“The ability to accept contactless payments directly on a smartphone has transformed how small businesses operate across Ukraine,” said Tetiana Chorna, Vice President, Country Manager for Visa in Ukraine. “By extending Visa Tap to Phone technology to Raiffeisen Bank customers through Tap to Pay on iPhone, we’re making it even easier for merchants to embrace digital payments - removing barriers and helping them serve their customers with greater speed and security.”
*Encrypted card numbers are temporarily stored on iPhone only for transactions made in Store and Forward mode.
