Raiffeisen Bank creates an environment where veterans feel supported

Raiffeisen Bank creates an environment where veterans feel supported, respected and have opportunities for growth. This was highlighted by the HR Director of Raiffeisen Bank during Veteran Reintegration Conference organized by the EBRD, Ministry of Veterans Affairs, National Bank of Ukraine and Korn Ferry.

«Back in 2023, we laid the foundation — defining five leadership principles, one of which is a key commitment: being veteran-friendly. This is not just a declaration, it’s the core of our corporate culture. We assist both mobilized employees and their families, as well as those returning from the front lines, by providing retraining, rehabilitation, and smooth reintegration into the workplace», said Viktor Marchenko.

Raiffeisen Bank was among the first to introduce the role of a Veterans Officer, currently held by Nataliya Kryzhanivska. Her mission is to provide individualized care for each veteran, from their return through the entire adaptation process.

«Over 250 bank employees are defending Ukraine in the Armed Forces, and around 40 veterans are already working in various departments, from IT to cash handling. We firmly believe that Know Your Veteran is just as important as Know Your Customer», emphasized Viktor Marchenko.

Raiffeisen has also developed inclusive financial products:

Gratitude Card, offering cashback, bonuses, and discounts for veterans;

Brave Grant Program, through which the bank allocated UAH 20 million to support 217 businesses, 153 of which are veteran-owned.

Raiffeisen is scaling its initiatives nationwide.

 «We’re building a culture of trust where supporting veterans isn’t a formality, it’s real action. Trust is the currency that enables a strong adaptation program for those who have defended and continue to defend our country», said Viktor Marchenko.
