The artificial lung ventilation machines purchased by Raiffeisen Bank Aval are delivered to hospitals

At the end of March, Raiffeisen Bank Aval in cooperation with the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Krona” has acquired three AVEA artificial lung ventilation machines produced in the USA for the Kyiv City Hospital #9 and the Chernivtsi Regional Hospital.

On 28 April, one of these units was delivered to the Infectious Intensive Care Unit of Kyiv City Hospital #9.

Today, two more devices, acquired by the bank, have been delivered to the Chernivtsi Regional Hospital.

The availability of such equipment in hospitals will provide urgent and much-needed assistance to patients suffered from complications caused by COVID-19 and associated with impaired lung function.

Our bank has initiated and is supporting a number of charity projects, and we think that everyone can contribute to overcoming the pandemic", noted Natalia Marchenko, Head of Executive Management and Communications Division of Raiffeisen Bank Aval. "We have acquired these three artificial lung ventilation machines for one of the most overloaded hospitals today, helped to provide medics with personal protective means. We hope that together we'll be able to support those who need help".

Earlier, Raiffeisen Bank Aval has also donated 140 thousand hryvnias for purchase of protection means and payment of transportation services for medical institutions, which treat children with cancer; in cooperation with the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Caritas Ukraine” the bank has provided assistance in the amount of 250 thousand hryvnias for Chernivtsi region; donated protective clothing kits to the Regional Clinical Infection Hospital in Uzhgorod, Rozhnyativ Central District Hospital and Center for Primary Medical Assistance to Rozhnyativ District Council of Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The bank has also conducted and continues to held joint promotions with Visa to assist medical institutions and healthcare professionals. Among them: fundraising and transfer of 1 million hryvnias for the purchase of personal protective equipment for employees of four hospitals in Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions; doubling every Box Catering lunch paid for doctors by customers using a Raiffeisen Bank Aval Visa card; transfer of 50 hryvnias for each trip by Bolt taxi, paid by a Visa card from Raiffeisen Bank Aval, for free transportation of doctors.
