Raiffeisen Bank customers can keep accepting cashless paymentsduring power outages

Raiffeisen Bank customers can continue accepting cashless payments during power outages using AndroidPOS terminals with built-in batteries or the Tap to Phone service for Android and iOS. Both solutions allow businesses to accept payments without being plugged into a power outlet, but require an internet or mobile data connection.
“Power outages do not have to bring cashless payments to a halt. An Android POS terminal with a fullycharged battery can operate independently for six to eight hours, while Tap to Phone lets businesses accept payments without a separate terminal. The key is to charge your devices and ensure connectivity in advance," says Yevhen Vasyltsov, Director of the Acquiring Department at Raiffeisen Bank.
Raiffeisen Bank’s Android POS terminals can run for up to eight hours on a single charge. Actual battery life depends on usage, screen settings, connection quality and battery condition. With a charged device and mobile internet access, businesses can accept payments made with cards, smartphones and smartwatches even when the power is out.
Another option is Tap to Phone (RaiPos), which turns an Android or iOS smartphone into a payment terminal. To accept contactless payments, businesses need an NFC-enabled phone, the installed app, an activated service and internet access. The solution can serve as an alternative to a traditional POS terminal or as an additional checkout option.
The bank advises businesses not to wait until the first outage: activate the service you need, charge your devices and check your mobile connection in advance. These steps will help businesses keep accepting cashless payments when electricity is unavailable.
Raiffeisen Bank customers can order an Android POS terminal through the MyRaif app in just a few simple steps.
