Updated rules on buying non-cash foreign currency comes into force from July, 20

Dear clients, please pay attention.

From July 20, 2021, the National Bank of Ukraine (hereinafter - NBU) supplements the rules on purchase of non-cash foreign currency for both residents-legal entities and individuals-entrepreneurs, namely:

  •  it is allowed to buy foreign currency without any obligations and submit supporting documents to the bank for a total amount up to 100 thousand euros (equivalent) per day, but subject to prior registration of operations in NBU AIS system called  "E-limits" by the bank.

Currency purchased in this way can be stored in customer's current account without time limit and used for any non-prohibited purpose*. However, in case of funds transfer abroad or in Ukraine (to accounts of non-residents and payments under foreign trade agreements), the bank shall (if necessary) carry out currency supervision and request supporting documents.

As a reason for currency purchase it is necessary to indicate "without confirmation of obligations" in the application.

From now on, buying foreign currency becomes more convenient and faster.

The rules of foreign currency purchase are changed – NBU Resolution № 80.
