EBRD Awards Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine for Green Trade Finance

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has named Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine the “Most Active Issuing Bank in Green Trade Finance” for 2024. The award was presented in London during the EBRD’s 34th Annual Meeting.

Throughout 2024, with the support of the EBRD, Raiffeisen Bank provided green guarantees and letters of credit totaling nearly EUR 20 million. Agricultural machinery was the primary focus of financing, contributing to sustainable development and supporting low-carbon agriculture.

Shona Tatchell, Director, Head of TFP at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, commented:
«We are proud to recognise Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine as the winner of the EBRD TFP “Most Active Issuing Bank in Green Trade in 2024”. This remarkable achievement – earned for the second consecutive year and for the fourth time since the award's inception – reflects the bank’s strong commitment to sustainable finance. We look forward to continuing our strong collaboration to further advance sustainable economic growth».

Larysa Bondarieva, Deputy Chair of the Board of Raiffeisen Bank, stated:
«Receiving this award is the result of our systematic work in trade finance and agribusiness support. We are grateful to the EBRD for its trust and long-term partnership. For us, it is important not only to finance green projects but also to facilitate the transformation of Ukraine’s economy toward environmental sustainability, which is particularly crucial in the context of Ukraine’s economic recovery».

Nataliia Fedosieieva, Head of Trade Finance and Factoring at Raiffeisen Bank, added:
«Trade finance is a key tool for supporting businesses, especially amid the challenges of wartime. Our team works daily to ensure that clients receive not only financial solutions but also opportunities to develop green initiatives. This recognition from the EBRD is an important acknowledgment of our joint efforts».
