Raiffeisen Bank clients raised UAH 1,173,670 for children’s treatment – more than four times the initial target

Raiffeisen Bank clients raised UAH 1,173,670 as part of a charitable fundraising campaign by the Zaporuka Foundation to support the treatment of 5-year-old Leonid. This is 4.1 times more than the initial fundraising target of UAH 284,416.

Leonid lives with Apert syndrome and craniosynostosis and requires complex treatment and surgeries. The fundraiser was launched to cover the cost of special medical supplies needed for an urgent operation at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital.

Thousands of Raiffeisen Bank clients joined the fundraiser, making a total of  7,176 donations.

The amount raised is sufficient to fully cover Leonid’s need for the required medical supplies. More than UAH 889,000 remaining after his treatment is paid for will be directed by the Zaporuka Foundation to support other children who also need medical care.

Raiffeisen Bank has been cooperating with the Zaporuka Foundation for more than 15 years. During this time, the bank has supported the Foundation’s charitable programmes with its own funds, while Raif employees and clients have repeatedly joined urgent fundraising campaigns to help children.

The Bank thanks everyone who contributed to the fundraiser. Thanks to this joint support, Leonid and other children supported by Zaporuka will receive the help they need.

Background
Since 2008, the Zaporuka Foundation has been providing comprehensive support to families with children facing serious illnesses, helping ensure they do not have to go through this experience alone. The Foundation also supports healthcare institutions and implements projects aimed at improving treatment conditions and children’s access to quality healthcare in Ukraine.
