Up to 10% reimbursement of loan expenses: cashback grants for businesses under the REMARKET programme in partnership with Caritas and Raiffeisen Bank

As part of the REMARKET programme, Raiffeisen Bank has joined as a financial partner of Caritas Switzerland and Caritas Ukraine to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine.

The partnership aims to improve businesses’ access to financing through an investment lending mechanism combined with the opportunity to receive a cashback grant after investing in business development.

The project is focused on supporting sectors that are important for local economies through grant instruments, business support initiatives, and more accessible opportunities for growth and investment.

Within the REMARKET programme, participants can receive an investment loan from Raiffeisen Bank for the purchase of fixed assets and, after completing the investment, obtain a cashback grant of up to 10% of the loan amount (up to CHF 10,000).

The programme focuses on supporting industries and market sectors that are important for local economies, including:

  • beekeeping
  • garment manufacturing
  • bakery businesses
  • cross-sector innovations (including honey-based products, textile technologies, and healthy nutrition)

By joining the REMARKET programme, Raiffeisen Bank will contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, strengthening local markets and creating new opportunities for economic resilience and entrepreneurship in Ukraine.

“Today, access to financing directly impacts the ability of small and medium-sized businesses to invest, scale, and remain resilient. Partnership programmes between banks, international organisations, and donors help entrepreneurs gain access to more affordable development tools. For Raiffeisen Bank, participation in REMARKET means supporting businesses that create jobs, develop local markets, and strengthen the economic resilience of communities,” said Larysa Bondarieva, Deputy Chair of the Management Board for Corporate Business at Raiffeisen Bank.

“Raif’s participation in the REMARKET programme is a natural continuation of our strategy to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine. Together with Caritas Switzerland and Caritas Ukraine, we combine bank financing with grant instruments, creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurs to invest in development and strengthen business resilience in challenging economic conditions. It is especially important that the programme focuses on sectors that provide essential services for communities, create jobs, and play a significant role in the country’s economic recovery,” said Ruslan Spivak, PhD, Director of the Financial Institutions, Investment Banking and Corporate Strategy Department at Raiffeisen Bank.

“Economic resilience of communities is an important part of Ukraine’s recovery. For Caritas Ukraine, supporting small and medium-sized businesses is about giving people the opportunity to stay in their communities, work, support their families, and maintain a sense of stability even during the war. When people can grow their own businesses, it strengthens communities, creates jobs, and helps people build their future where they live,” said Tetiana Stavnychi, President of Caritas Ukraine.

“The REMARKET programme helps small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine gain access to practical financial tools and development opportunities. Cooperation between international organisations, financial institutions, and local partners makes this support more accessible to entrepreneurs even during wartime. For Caritas Switzerland, it is important to support partnerships that help businesses not only sustain operations, but also plan growth, create jobs, and generate new opportunities for their communities,” said Andrea Berardi, Regional Director of Caritas Switzerland.

REMARKET is a three-year initiative implemented by Caritas Switzerland in partnership with Caritas Ukraine, Caritas-Spes Ukraine, and SPARK. The project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the If Foundation, with additional support from international Caritas network partners, including Caritas Austria, Cordaid, and Trócaire.
