Jobs for robots

An employee who is always attentive, does not forget anything, does not be rude, knows regular customers by sight and remembers their preferences, is always busy only with work ... Robots can match this ideal portrait of a service worker.

Increasingly, Ukrainian entrepreneurs are happy to use to attract attention at exhibitions, presentations, forums, during the advertising BTL and ATL actions of humanoid robots with artificial intelligence. They move around a given zone, screen or play the necessary information, talk to guests in different languages, answer their questions, tell about the company themselves, learn VIP visitors. For Ukrainians, robots are still exotic, so such assistants work as promoters and consultants very effectively.

And it is not necessary to buy a model: there are companies where a promoter robot or consultant Kiki, R.Bot, Furo Time-Dб, REEM-C and many others can be rented for a day or a few hours. As the director of the robot agency ROBOAGENCY, Oksana Kryzhanovskaya, says, they have been working for two years now, and the demand for robots for holding events is only growing. In Kyiv, at the IEC, almost no major exhibition or conference can do without such robots. People themselves listen to them, they themselves take advertising materials from robots and stay longer near such stands.

For example, the blonde blonde Kiki talks to people on any (programmed) topics in Russian, Ukrainian and English, moves his hands, head, body, non-verbally expresses emotions. On the chest screen displays various advertising content. She is “invited” to the role of speaker, presenter of presentations, conferences, children's parties, banquets or shows. If a leading person forgets his words, Kiki is able to prompt him. At the exhibitions she answers questions, talks about the company and its services and products, advises. Prefer her jewelry companies and real estate agencies. In Allo, Kiki talked about new phone models, helping to make a choice. To do this, a program is written for each customer that is put into the robot.

Robot photographer Rbot 100 perfectly acts as a promoter. He carries advertising leaflets, invites people to take a photo together, and while they are printed, goods / services are offered to the guests. Photos can be offered to be sent by e-mail in order to collect the address database.

AR-D service robots are different in that they can be controlled by an operator remotely: a person can present a product through a robot interface, speak at a meeting or conference. In this case, the robot plays audio and video, and the operator sees and hears everything, can communicate with the participants. Unlike a Skype conference, a robot can do something and holds attention by itself. Also, such a droid records and sends to the operator.
ROBOTMAX from Interactive Media Systems works on the principle of telemetry: it is remotely controlled by the operator, talking to customers through the “mouth of the robot”. Many companies also order the application of their logo on a robot, which works like an interactive stand and often ends up in selfies. Ukrainians positively perceive even actors in robotic costumes, which is cheaper.

In addition to growth, entertainment robots work well at events. Often these are simply programmable toys that create shows, play music or dance and attract the attention of children and their parents, like Alpha 1Pro, UBTECH STORMTROOPER. While the children are enthusiastically playing robofootball or robosumo (a board game where robots operate), it is convenient for them to hand out promotional products. Without such gaming robots, no major educational or entertainment event for a children's target audience can do.

Robo-waiters. Robots replacing the catering service personnel are also not the future anymore, but today. However, in Ukraine, such robots are used more for marketing purposes, for the WOW effect. The easiest bartender Makeblock is able to pour a drink. Rbot 100 can serve drinks and snacks at events. It can be programmed to drive up to the table, bring the electronic menu, take the order and transfer it to the kitchen, and then bring the order to the desired table. As you remember, the Rbot 100 can also answer standard visitors' questions and communicate with them. So far, no restaurant has decided to purchase a robo-optimist, but they often order it for banquets and birthdays, Kryzhanovskaya says.

Even such a wonder as a robocash desk ARC-70 with a face recognition function is offered for rent - it replaces the cashier: weighs, accepts money and cards, gives a check. Communicates with voice, gives hints, remembers loyal customers. For the marketer, this is also a find: the robot collects information about customer preferences.

Office robots. According to the global forecast of EY, 47% of professions in the developed countries of the world are likely to be automated over the next 20 years. Office robots free up valuable employee time for more complex and non-standard tasks. Bots programs process electronic documents, monitor online resources, prepare reports. So, American experts believe that all technical legal work will be fully automated in the next 5-10 years. Known Ukrainian bot-lawyer PatentBot, which is used for automatic verification of trademarks and filing applications for registration.

In the stock market, in investing today, most of the operations are performed not by a person, but by a computer. The robot advisor is able to determine the client’s needs and risk appetite, select an investment strategy for him and independently implement it by buying and selling securities on the stock market. The leaders of this market are the American Wealthfront and Betterment.

Educational robots. If robotization and other innovations penetrate slowly into “adult” production, then educational robotics has been developing intensively in recent years in Ukraine. Network schools and technical studios have opened in all major cities, creating a demand for studying robotics. For entrepreneurs from medium and small cities, the niche is still free. In addition to educational services, Ukrainians are also actively creating and promoting educational products for learning robotics: the Boteon and CyberCoder training kits.
Also, robot consultants are beginning to be used as teachers. Experts are sure that in 10-15 years children who today study robotics will not do without robots in business.

Medical robots. In pharmaceutical companies, robotic systems can be used for the selection, sorting, packaging of medical products, they provide the highest precision of weighing substances and are not sensitive to the state of the air environment. KUKA has Swisslog Healthcare specialty boats for hospitals and pharmacies. Their tasks are equipment, transportation, issuance of drugs. The Ukrainian network of pharmacies uses roboruku for picking online orders. Surgical robots are not yet in demand in Ukraine. But robotized installations using additive technologies are very promising - a type of 3D printing, in which layers of metal or ceramic powder are built up according to a given shape. This is how individual dental and joint prostheses are created.

McKinsey’s “Future that Works: Automation, Employment, and Productivity” explored 800 occupations and found that about half of the tasks performed by workers can be automated. According to McKinsey, up to 60% of factory operations will be automated in the United States in the coming decades. And people will increasingly play the role of controllers of robots, managers, and not workers with a narrow specialization.

So, in the service sector in Ukraine, robots are still not widespread, which allows them to effectively use them for marketing purposes to attract the attention of customers. At the same time, the functionality of robots is high enough to replace promoters and sales assistants with them, which means that with the price reduction of “smart technology” the demand for it will definitely grow.
